On-Farm Grain Bin Fumigation
FSS performs grain fumigation for large on-farm bin systems, high-volume storage, specialty and identity-preserved crops, and situations where resistance is suspected. For smaller bins, many licensed farmers fumigate their own bins with phosphine when label directions and state rules are followed. Fumigants are Restricted Use Pesticides; FSS verifies licenses prior to sale and complies with state dealer regulations. When conditions are right (above 60F, proper sealing, adequate exposure), phosphine eliminates all life stages of stored product insects.
Stored Grain Insect Prevention
Prevention is usually more economical than fumigation. Applying a grain protectant as grain goes into storage sharply reduces infestations and emergency treatments later.
- Insecto Diatomaceous Earth (DE) – physical, non-chemical, ideal for long-term storage
- Gravista and Gravista-D – adulticide + IGR + synergist, labeled for barley, corn, oats, popcorn, rice, rye, milo, and wheat
- Diacon-D and Diacon IGR Plus – breaks the insect life cycle, ideal for livestock feed and stored grain
Livestock Farmers & Feed Protection
Insects in feed bins and on-farm mixers reduce feed quality and animal performance. FSS supports producers with Diacon-D and Insecto for feed storage, whole-grain protectants, monitoring tools, rodent control, and fogging products such as Inselux (applied when animals are removed).

Burrow fumigation releases gas into the tunnel system for control where trapping or baiting falls short, across crop fields, pastures, orchards, vineyards, irrigation berms, and storage perimeters.
