By: Ryan Yutzy
FSS, Inc is proud to lead the pest control industry with its endless commitment to provide a safe working environment. Each of our employees is dedicated to adopting new safety initiatives while implementing cutting edge techniques in fumigation and DynamicIPM®. Every project that FSS starts is lead by a fully licensed and trained team member who ensures that all policies and procedures are properly followed. Due to FSS holding pest control business, applicator, and/or dealer licenses in nearly half of the state’s nationwide it has become increasingly important to be well versed on local regulatory requirements. Getting our hazardous material fumigant products to and from the jobsite also merits an increased level of consideration and planning. To meet this need, FSS has assisted our technicians to acquire a Class C CDL licenses with hazmat endorsement. This transportation option allows us to offer greater reliability and peace of mind to the customer in comparison to relying on common carrier shipments, especially in this day and age. With service sites ranging from seed warehouses to food processing plants, FSS prides itself on the ability to adapt to the many environments that require special attention to safety.
In addition to FSS annual staff training, we provide many other opportunities for our team members to increase their pest control knowledge and experience level. First Aid, AED, and CPR training is offered every 2 years and job specific accreditations like aerial lift training are acquired as needed. All service team members are required to complete a 10- or 30-hour OSHA class upon employment with FSS and the company Safety Director, Ryan Yutzy, maintains his OSHA Outreach Trainers License. Attending educational seminars that offer continuing educations credits are also essential for maintaining each team members pest control licensing credentials and go a long way in encouraging exposure to others within our industry. While the FSS safety culture continually adapts and evolves with the ever-changing occupational climate our commitment to our customers will stay the same. We will always continue to serve you with adherence to this safety culture and appreciate the faith you have ensured in us for the last 40 years.
